Job summary

PGTEK is seeking a Senior High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator with a TS/SCI clearance to manage a large-scale HPC cluster at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

You will own the HPC environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and security while maintaining compliance with customer requirements. You will mentor customer staff and coordinate upgrades, providing hands‑on training and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated 10+ years of HPC experience, with Linux systems administration expertise.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required or in scope.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a large-scale HPC cluster, including monitoring, tuning, and reliability management.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal disruption to users and operations.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities to maintain compliance and authorized status on the customer network.
• Respond to customer requests and provide technical support while sustaining relationships with customer personnel.
• Mentor and train customer system administrators through hands-on knowledge transfer.
• Stay updated on HPC technologies and best practices; propose improvements for performance and security.
• Operate with minimal supervision in a mission-critical environment.
