Job summary

Qualifications

• DOE-eligible security clearance required; U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Significant expertise in parallel file-system internals with Lustre experience.
• Experience in production HPC environments with downtime impact.
• Advanced proficiency in C, with additional experience in C++, Rust or Python.
• Strong Linux knowledge and kernel interface experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical projects and influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work off-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for evolution, reliability, and performance of Lustre file systems at scale.
• Lead storage-system software development initiatives for new features and maintenance of Lustre and related projects (ZFS, monitoring tools, quotas).
• Review upstream and local changes, set adoption criteria, and integrate changes into production deployments.
• Drive cross-functional efforts to evaluate architectures and trade-offs for storage systems.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues affecting availability of critical resources.
• Define roadmaps and priorities for parallel file-system software aligned with mission needs.
• Mentor staff and share expertise across storage professionals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
