Job summary

NextSilicon is seeking an experienced HPC Field Applications Engineer to join our pre‑sales engineering team in the US, supporting customers across industries. You will port, benchmark, and optimize HPC/AI workloads on CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators, while communicating complex benefits clearly to customers and partners.

The role requires strong C/C++ and Fortran, Linux, and shell experience, with at least 8 years in HPC and 4+ in commerce.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of work experience in HPC field, with at least 4 years in the commercial sector.
• Experience with at least two computing architectures (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, vector processors).
• Expertise in at least two application areas (CFD, FEM, MD, weather/climate, QM, AI) required.
• Strong parallel programming experience using MPI and OpenMP is required.
• US citizenship with eligibility to visit US government research facilities is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and foster client contacts; identify new opportunities.
• Lead proof‑of‑concept, benchmarking, and code porting projects to win business.
• Gather and qualify customer requirements; convey them to product management and engineering.
• Provide market insights and guidance to sales and engineering teams.
• Support proposals with compelling value propositions and technical documentation.
