Job summary

Jobgether seeks an experienced HPC/AI Systems Administrator in the United States to ensure reliable, high-performance computing infrastructure for researchers. You will deploy, monitor, and maintain compute nodes, storage, networking, and software stacks, with a focus on Slurm-based scheduling and automated operations.

Remote within the United States or hybrid from Minnesota or California offices offers flexible framing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, CS, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 5–10+ years of hands-on HPC system administration experience.
• Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting Slurm in large-scale HPC/AI environments.
• Strong understanding of HPC/AI tech, infra, and software ecosystems.
• Experience with automation, monitoring, performance tuning, and resource scheduling.
• Familiarity with MPI, containers, Spack, and environment modules.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
• Willingness to travel within the United States about four times per year.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to visit U.S. government facilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, administer, monitor, and maintain HPC/AI systems, including compute nodes, storage infrastructure, networking components, and software stacks.
• Develop and maintain automation tools for provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
• Install, configure, and optimize Slurm for resource management.
• Support system security, patch management, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct performance benchmarking and system tuning to improve computing efficiency.
• Contribute to capacity planning and resource management.
• Deploy and maintain HPC/AI applications and software technologies (MPI, containers, Spack, environment modules).
• Document procedures and share knowledge internally.
• Provide technical expertise to researchers and resolve escalated requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and handle procurement and lifecycle management.
