Job summary

County of Santa Barbara is seeking a Housing Program Specialist, Senior to lead affordable housing and community development initiatives in Santa Barbara County. You will manage federal, state, and local programs, review underwriting, and coordinate with partners to meet deadlines.

The role requires deep knowledge of housing funding, strong leadership, and the ability to facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholders across the county.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban studies/planning, business administration, public administration, or closely related field is required.
• Experience with Federal/State grant and loan funding and affordable housing programs is preferred.
• Ability to draft contracts and legal documents and explain complex issues to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement, and manage federal, state, and local affordable housing and community development programs.
• Lead meetings, monitor compliance, and report outcomes to stakeholders.
• Underwrite housing proposals, evaluate funding, and collaborate with developers, lenders, and attorneys.
