Job summary

Vista Host Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance of a hotel building, grounds, and systems. You will manage equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and safety programs while training staff and supporting asset management to enhance guest experiences.

You will lead maintenance operations independently, coordinating with other departments to uphold high standards of property operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in building maintenance, hospitality setting preferred.
• Hands-on and proactive with prompt issue resolution.
• Leadership to train and guide maintenance staff and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance standards for guest rooms and public areas.
• Train maintenance personnel and provide basic training to staff as needed.
• Review, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders and repairs.
• Ensure safety and compliance of property and equipment; follow manufacturer specs.
• Monitor fire alarm and life-safety systems; respond to emergencies.
• Solicit bids from contractors and ensure insurance and compliance.
• Maintain exterior grounds and landscaping, keeping areas presentable and safe.
• Maintain thorough maintenance logs and inventory; support preventive maintenance.
