Job summary

Silver Ventures, Inc. seeks a Controller to oversee the financial operations of Hotel Emma in San Antonio. The role drives accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with a hands-on leadership style.

You will ensure timely, accurate GAAP reporting, manage cash flow, and mentor the finance team while coordinating with the Emma Hospitality Group CPA on audits and tax filings for the property portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in hospitality or luxury service.
• Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems and USALI.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience for a single-property hotel.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic partnership overseeing the day-to-day Hotel Emma finance department responsibilities.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with internal operating functions and Ownership for Hotel Emma operations.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger with timely month-end closings.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and local regulations; support CPA audits on-site.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and monthly reconciliations for review by the Emma Hospitality Group CPA.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support Hotel Emma operations and capital projects; identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Enact internal controls and ensure tax compliance with hospitality regulations and audit requirements.
• Oversee staff hiring, coaching, and performance management within the finance team.
