Job summary

The Blennerhassett, a Giovanni Hotel and Spa in West Virginia seeks an experienced facilities engineer to keep historic systems running. You will maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety equipment while leading the engineering team and training staff on safety procedures.

You’ll manage preventive maintenance, supervise repairs, review vendor bids, track work orders, and ensure compliance with brand standards while delivering reliable service to guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years of college or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or plumbing.
• Six years in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services for a hotel.
• Hands-on experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing with specialization in at least one trade; licensure where required; pool operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing systems that keep the hotel running: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and guest room equipment.
• Running the preventative maintenance program and completing work orders on time.
• Ensuring fire and safety inspections are done and issues corrected; uphold building safety.
• Leading and training the engineering team; ensuring adherence to safety, security, and brand standards.
• Managing vendor relationships, bids, and cost estimates; monitoring tool inventories and budgets.
• Overseeing capital repair and renovation projects and emergencies procedures; acting as a visible, professional presence.
