Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Chief Engineer in Amarillo, TX to lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel engineering division. The role oversees maintenance, safety compliance, budgeting and staff supervision to ensure service excellence for guests and owners.

Candidates should have 3+ years of facilities management in hospitality or a 2-year degree with related leadership experience, plus HVAC, electrical and plumbing skills.

Qualifications

• Progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and vendor coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets.
• Ensure hotel compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service and SOPs.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Adhere to annual department budget and assist in financial forecasts.
• Develop preventative maintenance programs and energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure life safety equipment compliance and inspections.
• Support safety programs and participate in hotel safety committees.
