Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a Hot Mills Specialist to coordinate production flow and material movement at the #5 Mill, ensuring quality disposition and on-time customer order fulfillment.

The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and experience in steel manufacturing, with the ability to liaise across operations, planning, metallurgy, and maintenance to optimize throughput and map to SQDC targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• Training in shop floor systems, production reporting systems, quality processes, inventory control, and material handling operations.
• Knowledge of ISO/QS requirements and manufacturing quality systems preferred.
• Minimum of three years experience in manufacturing operations or related industrial environment.
• Experience in steel manufacturing, hot rolling, or heavy industrial operations preferred.
• Experience coordinating production schedules, dispatching work, resolving material flow issues, and supporting customer order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production flow, material movement, dispatching, inventory control, quality disposition, and customer order fulfillment across the #5 Mill and supporting operations.
• Act as the primary liaison between operations, planning, metallurgy, quality, customer service, maintenance, and material handling functions to optimize throughput and SQDC performance.
