Job summary

Ascent Hospitality seeks a qualified Chief Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the hotel facilities, ensuring guest comfort and safety. This role manages maintenance staff, coordinates renovations, and works with contractors on projects while upholding security and asset protection standards.

The Chief Engineer will supervise equipment like HVAC, boilers, electrical systems, and life safety systems, lead a team, manage budgets and labor, and drive preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• College degree or related engineering courses helpful.
• HVAC, plumbing and carpentry certifications or experience.
• 3+ years hands-on hotel maintenance experience.
• Hotel operations knowledge and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a smooth operation and guest experience
• Responsible for monitoring compliance with state building codes and regulations, OSHA safety codes and adherence to Fire Department standards of safety and evacuation procedures.
• Recruits, interviews and assists in recommending prospective employees, including Engineers, Laborers, Painters, and Carpenters, evaluates job performance and recommends appropriate discipline and rewards.
