Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; POST approved Police Academy.
• Experience: 1 year police or Military Police; 5 years Probation/Parole Officer.
• Licensure: Police Officer POST certification; valid CT driver’s license; ability to obtain CT pistol permit within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs rounding on Yale New Haven Hospital owned and/or leased properties to deter and detain unauthorized individuals or suspicious activity.
• Provide written communication through hospital approved reporting system that affect safety and security of the Hospital community.
• Performs general support functions to ensure safety, security and public relations; provides escorts and money escort duties as needed.
• Follows established precautions and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Meets attendance and punctuality requirements to ensure proper coverage and quality service.
