Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in environmental services or healthcare facility maintenance.
• Experience in terminal cleaning, waste management, and floor care in a healthcare setting.
• CHEST/CHESP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and deep-cleaning carpets with floor maintenance equipment.
• Handles hazardous, infectious, and noninfectious waste following OSHA, EPA, and hospital policies.
• Executes terminal cleaning and disinfection in high-risk areas such as operating rooms and ICUs.
• Trains and mentors new Environmental Services staff on cleaning techniques and infection control.
• Assists with special projects like construction cleanup and emergency response cleaning.
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment to support operations.
• Monitors supplies and reports inventory shortages to minimize waste.
• Identifies and reports maintenance or safety concerns requiring prompt action.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with all hospital policies and standards.
