Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Nurse to join the Hospice team. You will support the Hospice Lead Nurse and jointly lead a small nursing team, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care across 24-hour shifts.

You will oversee assessments, care planning, direct patient care, staff supervision, and engagement with multidisciplinary colleagues to meet patients' needs and maintain safety and excellence in end-of-life care.

Formación

• Current 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Experience in palliative or end-of-life care is preferred.
• Ability to lead a small nursing team and manage ward activities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide senior team support to hospice lead nurse and deputy ward manager with ward management in their absence.
• Take charge of the unit to ensure safe, organized and high-quality clinical service across 24 hours.
• Lead and line-manage a small nursing team including HCAs with regular appraisals.
• Oversee initial and ongoing assessment, planning and delivery of care.
• Contribute to service developments to enhance patient care within the hospice.
• Act as nurse in charge after probation, ensuring safe and high-quality care around the clock.
• Facilitate admission/discharge planning and delegate tasks based on skill mix.
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with other professionals.
