University of Vermont Health Network's UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus in Burlington, VT, seeks a Sr. Histotechnologist on a per diem basis. Responsibilities include routine and stat tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, mounting, staining and labeling.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a science field with HTL certification; immunohistochemistry (QIHC) is preferred but not required. Candidates should have about three years of histology experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field and HTL certification required.
• QIHC certification preferred but not required.
• Three years of experience in a Histology Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and stat tissue processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, staining and labeling.
• Perform advanced histology processing including histochemical and immunohistochemical testing.
• Guide Histotechnicians and support staff as a resource person.
• Recognize and troubleshoot procedural, instrument, and quality control problems and notify supervisors.
