Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Sr. Histotechnologist to perform routine and advanced histology processing at UVMMC - Medical Center, Burlington. The role involves embedment, microtomy, staining, and labeling, plus expertise in histochemical and immunohistochemical testing.

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in a science field with HTL certification; QIHC is preferred but not required. Minimum three years of histology lab experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field with HTL certification.
• QIHC experience is preferred but not required.
• Three years in a Histology Laboratory or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced histology processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, staining and labeling.
• Conduct advanced histochemical and immunohistochemical testing.
• Provide guidance to Histotechnicians, Histotechnologists, and support staff as a resource.
• Recognize and troubleshoot procedural, instrument, and quality control issues and escalate as needed.
