Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Senior Histotechnologist to join Saint Francis Hospital’s laboratory team in Connecticut. You will prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination, perform routine histology and IHC, and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced lab.

You will also train staff, assist with competency assessments, and support the adoption of new histology technologies while adhering to CLIA/CAP requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a BS degree with biology and chemistry coursework.
• ASCP HTL certification is required.
• Experience with histology, IHC, and staining workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, embed, section, stain, and coverslip tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Accession, label, and document tissue samples and testing activities.
• Perform routine histology, special stains, and IHC procedures.
• Troubleshoot staining quality, instruments, and workflow issues; document corrective actions.
• Support validation and implementation of new histology and IHC technologies.
• Train and mentor staff and students; assist with competency assessments.
