Job summary

• Registered HT (ASCP) or Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, preferred.
• Certification as HT (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the histotechnological, general laboratory and computer skills required in the anatomical pathology laboratory; may include microtomy skills, routine special and histochemical stains, continuing education, and quality control.
• Upholds applicable laws and regulations related to the position.
• Wears appropriate personal protective equipment and reports spills or hazards; follows guidelines for patient data disclosure.
• Performs preventive maintenance and quality control with proper documentation.
• Participates in continuous improvement programs, quality assurance and department meetings.
• Promotes a cohesive work environment and helps identify resolutions to improve morale.
