Required HT/HTL certification with ASCP and 3+ years of lab experience; NAACLS program or equivalent coursework is needed. This PRN position may require occasional travel and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Requires NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or equivalent biology/chemistry credits.
• Three years of relevant lab tech/leadership experience preferred.
• HT or HTL certification from ASCP is required.
• Maintain ASCP BOC CMP if certified.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and lab instrumentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue sections for pathology examination.
• Process tissue specimens for diagnostic/teaching purposes.
• Perform fixation, dehydration, embedding, sectioning, decalcification, mounting.
• Prepare dyes and chemical solutions; process frozen sections.
• Perform advanced staining including immunohistochemistry.
• Assist in evaluating new techniques and training others on equipment and software.
• Occasional travel to community hospitals for frozen section support.
• May participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation.
