Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• HT/HTL (ASCP) certification eligible preferred.

• Must maintain professional demeanor with physicians and lab personnel.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine histology including specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry.
• Maintains diagnostic viability and ensures correct patient labeling; prints labels as needed.
• Records slides and stains in lab logbooks and computer system daily.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment; documents remedial actions.
• Follows laboratory safety protocols and quality control activities.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Exhibits flexibility with attendance and overtime as required.
