Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Preservation Architect.
• Extensive knowledge of historic architecture, construction techniques, materials and conservation techniques.
• Ability to read architectural plans and technical drawings.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to determine their current condition and any necessary repairs or restorations.
• Develop preservation plans that adhere to local, state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and other professionals to ensure preservation projects are carried out effectively.
• Oversee the construction and restoration process to ensure it is completed according to plans and within budget.
• Conduct research on historical architecture, construction techniques and materials to inform preservation projects.
• Maintain accurate records of all preservation work done on each building or structure.
