Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an experienced histology professional to independently perform advanced histology functions and support study data quality. You will prepare audits responses, conduct method development experiments, and assist with staff training.

The role emphasizes tissue processing, documentation, and collaboration with management, coworkers, and sponsors to ensure high-quality preclinical study results.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in biological science preferred.
• Experience: 1 year pathology lab experience required; 3 years preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform advanced histology, including slide QC, special stains, thin/thick sections, IHC, and serial sectioning.
• Prepare responses to audits, deviations, and other documentation from internal and external reviews of data.
• Perform method development experiments, troubleshoot technical challenges, and offer solutions.
• Prepare study-specific procedure documentation.
• Assist in training staff at this level.
• May serve as a source for pathology-related study information and attend study meetings.
