Job summary

Rivian is seeking a seasoned Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) engineer to lead design, development, and maintenance of HIL platforms and tooling for power electronics software. You will shape test frameworks, collaborate with controls and software teams, and drive automation across CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced environment.

You will contribute to test case creation, validation of software and control algorithms, and robust data-driven analysis while documenting processes and maintaining traceability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years' HIL specification, design and implementation.
• 5+ years' test case design, automation and execution.
• Strong scripting in Python, Perl or Unix shell.

Responsibilities

• HIL Model Setup: design and build HIL environments representing real-world behavior.
• Test Case Development: create comprehensive test cases for various conditions.
• Test Execution and Analysis: run HIL tests and report findings.
• Automation of regression tests and CI/CD integration.
• Software Validation: work with controls and software engineers to validate functionality.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: resolve issues with hardware/software teams.
• Triaging and debugging between HIL failures and software bugs.
• Continuous Improvement: improve HIL models, processes, tools, and methods.
• Documentation: maintain clear test setups, cases and results.
• Traceability: ensure coverage from requirements to validation across SW maturity.
• Report on test coverage improvements to the team.
