Job summary

Barrett Industries in Middletown, OH, is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee asphalt paving and heavy civil construction projects from award through closeout. You will work with operations, estimators, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to deliver safe, on‑time, and on‑budget results in the Midwest Central Region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 3-7+ years of experience managing paving, asphalt, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, and project documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the MidWest Central Region.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects, including preconstruction planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecasts.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor to support project timelines.
• Track job costs and productivity, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Review and approve invoices, subcontractors' pay applications, and change orders.
• Assist in project buyout, cost control, and profitability analysis.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and milestones.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
• Promote and enforce Barrett Paving Materials' safety policies and procedures.
