Job summary

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a dedicated team player to join our Franklin, NE operations as a Highway Maintenance Worker. You will operate a range of highway maintenance equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support snow removal and emergency responses as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating heavy equipment or farming background is preferred.
• Ability to work in adverse weather, nights, weekends, and respond to emergencies on short notice.
• Basic computer skills and reliability are required.

Responsibilities

• Operates highway maintenance equipment such as trucks, rollers, loaders, tractors, snowplows, and more.
• Performs maintenance, repairs, and inspections on equipment and facilities.
• Patches roads, maintains signs, and supports snow removal and traffic safety tasks.
• Responds to emergency calls and on-call assignments as needed.
