Job summary

Wallace Montgomery is seeking a Highways/Roadway engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Newark or Dover, Delaware offices. You will work on complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The Design Engineer III will prepare designs, studies and reports, verify methods against criteria, and contribute to contract drawings, specifications and estimates, including public meetings and field inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering License required (DE preferred).
• 5-10 years' experience.
• DelDOT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering design, studies and reports.
• Determine / reviews appropriate application of technical methods of the work and verify compliance with criteria.
• Participate / Reviews the development of engineering design details, specifications, contract drawings and estimates.
• Prepare construction contract documents including final design details, construction drawings, specifications and estimates.
• Participate in presentations such as public meetings.
• Monitor current design trends/methodologies related to their area of expertise.
• Assist in training new employees in using CADD software.
• Client contact on a limited basis.
• Field work as team member for inspections and research for projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
