Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Highway Design team, responsible for advanced engineering, coordination, and preconstruction activities across major projects.

You will work with planning, environmental, controls, and traffic teams to ensure accurate, high-quality execution while meeting contract requirements. This role emphasizes mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaboration on complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s with 7+; or PhD with 6+.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage complex engineering scopes.
• Strong coordination with planning, environmental, controls and traffic teams.

Responsibilities

• Uses senior-level technical expertise to evaluate broad engineering solutions.
• Manages scope, schedule, and budget on complex projects within the discipline.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
• Coordinates with client counterparts and partners on project delivery.
