EXP is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer/Lead for our Florida offices. The role focuses on multi-modal roadway planning, civil design, design review, and construction oversight across Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale projects.
You will lead design efforts, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with FDOT standards. The ideal candidate has a PE in Florida, 12+ years of highway experience, strong MicroStation/OpenRoads skills, and proven project leadership.
Qualificações
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably civil or transportation.
- 12+ years of related experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida.
- PE in other Southeast States a plus.
- FDOT experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
- Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation.
- Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Responsabilidades
- Perform and lead highway design review tasks.
- Develop civil design for multi-modal transportation per AASHTO, MUTCD and FDOT standards.
- Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Prepare final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents.

EXP is currently seeking a talented Senior Highway Design Engineer for our Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale Office. The candidate will find opportunities on a wide range of projects involving multi-modal roadway planning, highway design, civil design, design review and construction oversight.
- Perform and lead engineering design review tasks for highway projects
- Develop civil design of multi-modal transportation projects per AASHTO, MUTCD and FDOT applicable design standards.
- Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Prepare final bid packages, design-build packages, and bridging documents.
- Familiarity and proficiency in applying FDOT Current Supported Software Versions to design projects as required including:
- OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- Bentley ProjectWise CONNECT
- MicroStation
- Civil 3D
- Auto Turn
- Guide Sign
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, preferably in civil or transportation curriculum.
- 12+ years related experience.
- Licensed PE in the State of Florida.
- Licensed PE in other Southeast States a plus
- FDOT experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
- Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team,
- Project management experience desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Active industry participation in professional societies at local and State level a plus.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
