Job summary

EXP is seeking a Civil Designer in our Miami, FL office (Coral Gables area) to support Living & Learning Division projects. You will assist with engineering documents, perform design analyses, and develop practical solutions for a variety of project types including residential and educational facilities.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, strong teamwork and communication, and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Knowledgeable with 3D Modeling desirable but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an emphasis on quality work products
• Must be willing to work outside in good and inclement weather
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Active industry participation in professional societies at local and State level a plus
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software and equipment.
• Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate
• Prepare alternative design solutions and conceptual options
• Develop solutions to a wide range of technical problems
• Must be willing to work in the field as necessary
• Perform other duties as needed

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be part of the Living & Learning Division, supporting building performance, sustainability, resiliency, and infrastructure initiatives for a variety of project types—including Residential and Education facilities—based out of our Miami (Coral Gables), FL office.
