Job summary

Modjeski & Masters, an established transportation engineering firm, seeks a mid-level Highway Design Engineer in Edwardsville, IL. The role focuses on highway projects, plan development, and coordination with staff on design, specs, and cost estimates.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) with roughly 5+ years of transportation design experience. A PE license in IL or MO is preferred or eligible. Hybrid work and firm-wide benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum a BS degree in Civil Engineering with ABET accreditation.
• 5+ years in the design and development of transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer license in IL or MO preferred or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with technical staff on transportation engineering tasks, plans, specs and cost estimates.
• Highway design including geometrics, drainage, pavement, signage, intersections, ADA and TMPs.
• Perform field assignments and assist with statements of interest and proposals.
• Prioritize highway tasks for multiple projects; familiarity with IDOT/MoDOT is preferred.
• Coordinate with subconsultants for survey, geotechnical, traffic analysis, and permitting.
• Prepare plans including roadway, traffic control, signing and erosion control.
