Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support our West Region, based in Denver, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires ensuring on-site oversight of heavy highway construction and serving as Engineer in Responsible Charge on assigned projects.

Candidates should have at least ten years of CDOT project experience and the ability to relocate temporarily to project locations. A PE license in CO or related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ten years of heavy highway construction experience.
• Experience on CDOT construction projects.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Project and PMWeb.
• Ability to obtain CO PE license, Traffic Control Supervisor, ACI and Erosion Control Supervisor Training.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible hours.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
• Willingness to relocate temporarily to project locations.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction on heavy highway projects with daily on-site presence.
• Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge and administer project paperwork.
• Support assignments across the Colorado front range, with temporary relocation as needed.
• Report to Resident Engineer or Client and Volkert manager.
