Job summary

VOLKERT INC in Colorado is seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support our West Region, with projects across Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins. The role requires on-site leadership of heavy highway construction, oversight of field engineering and project documentation.

Candidates must have at least ten years of highway construction experience, CDOT project exposure, and the ability to obtain Colorado PE licensure within a specified period.

Qualifications

• Ten years of heavy highway construction experience.
• Experience on CDOT construction projects.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, Project, PMWeb and internet/email.
• Certifications: Colorado PE, Traffic Control Supervisor, ACI and erosion control training.
• Able to stand for long periods and relocate temporarily if needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and MVR; pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction on heavy highway projects with daily on-site presence.
• Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge and administer project paperwork.
• Support assignments across the Colorado front range, including temporary relocation.
• Report to the Resident Engineer/Client and to the Volkert manager.
