Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for heavy civil/highway construction project administration and management to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be based in Atlanta, but we are open to west central or southwestern locations within the state.

Essential functions include independently managing complex GDOT roadway and bridge projects, leading CEI teams, monitoring traffic and erosion control, and overseeing estimates, change orders, and claims support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in heavy civil/highway construction.
• 5+ years managing GDOT construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to interpret contracts and GDOT plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex GDOT roadway, bridge, and other construction projects.
• Lead CEI teams including Junior Project Engineers, Office Managers, Senior Inspectors, Inspectors, CPM Reviewers, and staff.
• Monitor traffic and erosion control implementation and maintenance.
• Supervise monthly and final estimates, change orders/supplemental agreements, and claims support.
• Facilitate preconstruction, progress, and pre-activity meetings.
