Job summary

H&H is seeking a Chief Inspector to join the Construction Services Division in the New York Metropolitan Area. This position oversees construction inspection activities on major highway and transportation projects, leading inspection teams and ensuring compliance with contract requirements while delivering high-quality projects through field oversight and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or NICET Level IV certification.
• Minimum of ten years of highway construction or inspection experience.
• Experience with HES concrete repairs, asphalt milling/paving, drainage, pavement markings, and utilities.
• Experience on projects across Long Island and the NY Metropolitan Area.
• Strong knowledge of highway construction methods, inspection procedures, and contract administration.
• Ability to mentor construction inspection staff and interpret contract plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise inspection teams on highway and transportation projects.
• Review contract documents to ensure construction compliance.
• Develop and assign inspection tasks based on scope and schedule.
• Verify inspectors understand plans, specs, and requirements.
• Review field performance and daily inspection reports for accuracy.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders for project delivery.
• Maintain project records to support quality, safety, and compliance.
• Verify material certifications and ensure field testing is documented.
• Monitor MPT and WZTC operations throughout construction.
• Assist Engineer-in-Charge with contract administration and project oversight.
