Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a high voltage electrician at the journeyman level to install, test, repair and maintain transformers, regulators, cables and other HV components in NIH facilities, including substations and vaults.

The role requires working with equipment from 200 to 34,000 volts, performing troubleshooting, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure continuous operation. This position may involve shift work and emergency responses as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical principles and system operations (power factor, transformers, circuits).
• Ability to install, maintain and repair high voltage power equipment.
• Skill in using test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with high voltage safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, test, repair, and maintain HV components and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot distribution circuits and control equipment to locate faults.
• Operate and maintain HV systems from 200V to 34,000V.
• Coordinate with supervisor and follow directives in completing tasks.
