Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior High Speed Digital Design Engineer in Gilbert, AZ, for a 7-month temporary assignment. You will architect and lead the development of high-reliability digital hardware for aerospace applications, including FPGA/ASIC design, system architecture, and high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities include design reviews, timing analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • 8+ years designing complex digital hardware for aerospace/defense/high-reliability products.
  • Experience with FPGA/ASIC/SoC-based systems and high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design FPGA-, ASIC-, and processor-based digital hardware for high-reliability aerospace systems.
  • Lead digital hardware development including architecture, timing analysis, and design reviews.
  • Design, integrate, and verify interfaces like DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, LVDS, SPI, I2C.
  • Support bring-up, integration, debugging, and verification with lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with PCB teams to optimize signal/power integrity and manufacturability.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience designing complex digital hardware for aerospace, defense, communications, embedded computing, or other high-reliability products.
  • 8+ years of experience designing FPGA-, ASIC-, processor-, or SoC-based digital systems.
  • 8+ years of experience with board bring-up, hardware integration, and laboratory debug.
  • 8+ years of experience with high-speed digital interfaces and timing analysis.
  • 8+ years of experience with signal integrity principles and collaboration with PCB layout teams.
  • 8+ years of experience with High-Speed Digital Design, High Speed Digital Signal Integrity Design, Parts Derating, and Worst-Case Circuit Analysis.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience developing aerospace or defense electronics.
  • Experience with radiation-tolerant or harsh-environment electronics.
  • Experience with formal verification, power integrity, and mixed-signal hardware.
  • Excellent communication, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Dynamic / Static Power calculations.
