Job summary

County of El Paso seeks a Heritage Tourism Specialist Senior to oversee museum operations, heritage tourism initiatives, and public history programs for county properties such as Los Portales Museum and historic sites.

You will guide staff and volunteers, coordinate exhibits and educational activities, and build partnerships to promote local culture and tourism, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to THC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public history, preservation, or related field with two years museum/educational experience.
• Or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for museum operations and staff.
• Coordinate museum programs, exhibitions, and public events.
• Develop and maintain educational programming and partnerships.
• Oversee care and documentation of collections and exhibits.
• Monitor operations and suggest improvements for visitor experiences.
• Represent County museums at community events and outreach efforts.
