Job summary

Total Aviation Staffing, LLC is seeking a Senior Aircraft Light Mechanic for a helicopter air ambulance operation based in Marion, IN. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and repairs to ensure airworthiness and safe patient transport.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, at least two years of hands-on experience, ability to lift 100 pounds, and willingness to travel between bases. You will document maintenance per FAA regulations and coordinate with the Lead Mechanic.

Qualifications

• FAA Mechanic Certificate (A&P) required.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience as a certified aircraft mechanic.
• Must pass pre-placement physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work night shifts as needed.
• Residence within 60 miles or an hour drive of base.
• Roving team: sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect helicopters and troubleshoot mechanical issues to maintain airworthiness.
• Coordinate maintenance with Lead Mechanic and AMBS; oversee base aircraft and assets.
• Complete maintenance documentation per FAA regs and manufacturer specs.
• Record maintenance in RAMCO and keep inventory records accurate.
• Ensure parts inventory accuracy and proper tool calibration.
• Travel between bases to support maintenance operations.
• Follow a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule to maintain readiness.
