Hawthorne Cat is hiring a Machinery Service Technician/Mechanic 2 for the Kearny Mesa area. You will diagnose, repair, and service Caterpillar and allied equipment with minimal supervision, using Cat diagnostic tools and DBS for parts and time entry.

The role starts in Rancho Bernardo and moves to Kearny Mesa as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5–8 years of repair experience or completion of Level One Technician program; crane and LOTO certifications are

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five to eight years of experience in repair of Caterpillar or other heavy equipment preferred or Completion of Level One Technician program.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes/rigging equipment.
• Must be able to obtain crane qualification and pass Lock Out/Tag Out & Forklift certifications.

Aufgaben

• Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and reassemble components, and test systems.
• Perform Caterpillar updates as directed by Caterpillar, Inc.
• Communicate effectively with peers, leads, and staff; document issues clearly.
• Write service reports documenting diagnosis and repairs daily.
• Mentor technicians with less expertise as needed.
