Lee County Department of Transportation seeks a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator Senior to maintain rights‑of‑way, operate mini excavators and related equipment, and support daily public‑works activities in a safety‑minded team environment.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, a Florida Class A CDL with Air Brakes, and a commitment to safety. Work involves coordinating with crews, reporting to supervisors, and adhering to DOT protocols.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of heavy equipment or closely related experience.
• Ability to work in a safety‑sensitive position and comply with DOT Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
• Valid Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes Endorsement.

Responsabilités

• Drive and operate heavy equipment including mini excavators, wheel excavators, dump trucks, loaders, gradealls, skid steers, and lowboy trailers.
• Use chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters and other tools for routine maintenance.
• Help plan simple job layouts and set up safe work zones following traffic safety rules.
