Job summary

Recon is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator III to manage excavators, bulldozers, and motor graders and to perform finish grading to specifications on our environmental remediation and civil construction sites.

This senior operator role emphasizes safety, adherence to JSA/JSAP, daily pre-inspections, and reliable maintenance. Strong knowledge of PPE, load charts, and reading survey stakes is required; travel may be extended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Five or more years of equipment operating experience.
• MSHA Certification a plus.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training with current 8-Hour refresher preferred.
• TWIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety and project policies.
• Operate heavy equipment safely to meet site specs and finish grading.
• Excavate, move, and grade earth per site specs and equipment limits.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; report issues to supervisor.
• Travel may be required; read and interpret load charts and stake surveys.
• Communicate professionally and coordinate with team on-site.
