Job summary

Climax Molybdenum, a unit of Freeport-McMoRan, is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to support production at its Leadville-area operations in Colorado. You will operate haul trucks, dozers, excavators and loaders with a strong focus on safety, reliability and teamwork in a high-altitude mining environment.

The role requires at least two years of mobile equipment experience, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a written assessment and pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Two years of mobile equipment operating experience.
• Completed academic and practical competencies with internal progression requirements and safety.
• Must pass a written assessment based on skills and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in production at a highly skilled level.
• Maintain safety and perform start-up/shut-down procedures.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance.
• Assist with training and mentoring other operators.
• Follow LOTOTO, emergency, and safety protocols.
• Support road construction, stockpiles and equipment handling as needed.
