Job summary

Climax Molybdenum seeks a Support Equipment Operator Trainee for Tree and Top Soil operations. You will perform heavy equipment tasks in support of production, receive training, and participate in safety procedures in a high-altitude Colorado environment near Leadville.

Requirements include at least 3 months in related fields, English instruction comprehension, and demonstration of safety knowledge. On-site housing allowance is provided to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months experience in Mining/Manufacturing, Industrial Operations, Commercial Construction, Commercial Landscaping, or Commercial Agriculture.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
• Complete required competencies and pass a written assessment where required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment as part of production support (de-watering, materials delivery, berm maintenance, surface maintenance).
• Operate equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, rubber tire dozers, motor graders, and front-end loaders.
• Receive training, mentoring, and feedback from supervisors and equipment trainers.
• Complete required task training on various support equipment.
• Understand changes to assigned work areas and potential hazards; know start-up/shut-down, parking, mounting/dismounting, LOTOTO, emergency, fire procedures.
• Communicate via computer dispatch system or two-way radio; perform pre-shift inspections; may perform minor maintenance and other duties.
