Job summary

You will perform advanced diagnostics, inspections, and major overhauls on bulldozers, excavators, cranes, and other site machinery, ensuring high uptime and safety. This senior role leads repair projects, mentors junior mechanics, maintains meticulous service records, and coordinates with field crews to minimize downtime while adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel/heavy equipment preferred.
• 8–10 years of heavy equipment repair experience with 3+ years in senior/lead role.
• Manufacturer certifications (Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo, Liebherr) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required with hazmat/tanker endorsement within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Lead major overhauls of engines, transmissions, final drives, undercarriages, and hydraulics.
• Fabricate, weld, and machine parts as needed to complete repairs.
• Maintain service records and interpret manuals, bulletins, and schematics.
• Coordinate with field crews to minimize downtime and mentor junior staff.
