Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities, coordinating crews, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and budget-compliant project completion. The role requires robust scheduling, safety leadership, and quality control across heavy civil programs.

Ideal candidates bring 8–15+ years of heavy civil experience, with 5+ years in supervisory roles, and a background in highways, bridges, and utilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 8–15+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• 5+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily construction operations and field personnel.
• Coordinate multiple crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules.
• Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
• Participate in site and crew safety meetings.
• Perform weekly jobsite EHS inspections.
• Identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Assist the investigation of incidents and implement corrective measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture among all employees and subcontractors.
• Supervise foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors.
• Schedule manpower requirements to meet production goals.
• Mentor and develop field personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
