Job summary

Accounting Search in the Atlanta metro area seeks a Heavy Civil Estimator to join our preconstruction team. Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil infrastructure and site development projects, with hands-on experience in earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, and paving.

You will read and interpret civil drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze costs, and develop competitive bids while coordinating with operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience estimating heavy civil construction projects.
• - Strong understanding of grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and sitework.
• - Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• - Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• - Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• - Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• - Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop project cost estimates.
• - Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• - Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• - Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, clarifications, and exclusions.
• - Participate in pre-bid meetings and project reviews.
• - Collaborate with operations teams during bid turnover and project startup.
• - Identify project risks, cost exposures, and opportunities.
