Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator for the Atlanta metro area preconstruction team. The role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil infrastructure and site development projects.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on estimating experience in earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, and paving, with strong analytical and mathematical skills to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop project cost estimates.
• Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and project reviews.
• Collaborate with operations teams during bid turnover and project startup.
• Identify project risks, cost exposures, and opportunities.

Heavy Civil Estimator

A growing civil construction contractor in the Atlanta metro area is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and bid packages for civil infrastructure and site development projects.
