Job summary

S & S Paving & Construction, a Phoenix-based civil contractor, seeks an experienced estimator to join in Tucson. You will perform takeoffs, cost analyses, and bid preparation for asphalt, earthwork, and site projects.

The candidate should have five years of estimating experience, familiarity with Bluebeam and Heavy Bid-style tools, and the ability to coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams. Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Qualifications

• Five years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• Experience with heavy bid and Bluebeam preferred.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Study job specifications and evaluate construction methods to determine cost impacts.
• Perform digital and/or plan takeoffs for project quantities and scopes.
• Contact vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for quotes.
• Accurately forecast costs of earthwork and utilities for proposals.
• Site visits and job walks as necessary for estimating.
• Interpret and explain costs and budgets to project management and field personnel.
• Mentor other team members and strive for excellence in estimates.
