Job summary

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Heavy Civil Senior Estimator to join our Tampa or Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL offices.

You will oversee the accuracy and completeness of cost proposals and lead submittals to clients through bidding or negotiation. The role includes pursuing Design-Build opportunities, soliciting projects, analyzing contract documents, and coordinating with suppliers, architects, engineers, and specialty contractors.

Qualifications

• DOT experience required; FDOT experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 5–10 years in civil construction.
• Ability to work in a team, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solicit projects to bid within core markets.
• Analyze and interpret contract documents including plans, specifications and geotechnical reports.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using estimating software.
• Perform quantity take-off analysis.
• Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare project schedules using Primavera P6 CPM software.
• Prepare risk assessment analysis from contracts and geotechnical reports.
• Mentor and train other estimators; develop standardized estimating systems.
