Job summary

gpac is seeking an Estimator to prepare bids and manage preconstruction for heavy highway and bridge projects. You will work with Project Managers to develop accurate cost estimates, analyze plans, and evaluate subcontractor and material quotes.

Responsibilities include detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, managing bids, preparing proposals, and supporting risk assessment. Requires Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred) and 5+ years in heavy civil estimating; proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, highway, or bridge projects.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
• Proficient with estimating software HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans and specifications for constructability
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Prepare bids, proposals, and value-engineering options
• Assist in risk assessment and recommend cost-saving strategies
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm scope and constructability
